The successor to the bestselling OMC500SN, the Artist OMC600SN achieves the impossible, improving on its predecessor to be among the finest acoustic guitars we have ever produced. Handbuilt by the same team of 5 expert luthiers who lovingly crafted the Artist GG1EQ, the OMC600SN features a AAA-grade solid Cedar top and stunning solid Acacia back and sides, producing a deeper, more mellow tone when compared with a brighter wood such as Spruce. If you tend to gravitate toward warmer-toned acoustic guitars, you'll find all the mid-range you need with a single strum. The Mahogany neck is topped with a stunning dark Ebony fingerboard, tastefully bound with Maple along the length of 20 frets, constructed from 25% nickel for long-lasting durability.
All the bracing on this model has been constructed from the finest woods available. European Spruce was selected for the top bracing, back centre bracing, and reverse kerfing, while African Congo Mahogany braces the solid Acacia back, as the high-grade Ebony bridge is beautifully complemented by Ebony bridge pins. After an intensive and detailed testing process, a Tusq saddle was selected for its unparalleled tonal richness. Offering sweeter, more defined harmonics in the mid-treble frequencies when compared to bone and ivory, alongside a noticeable increase in sustain, the Artist Guitars team has carefully tested every point of contact between the strings and the guitar to ensure maximum resonance and a truly unique, vibrant sound. In combination with a 44.5mm Tusq nut and high-ratio Der Jung tuning machines, the result is a guitar with unparalleled tuning stability and deep resonance across the entire frequency range.
Like its predecessor, the OMC600SN features the legendary Supernatural pickup. Designed by Brad Clark, former CEO of Maton Guitars and co-founder of Cole-Clark guitars, the Supernatural is the latest offering from the local Australian guitar pioneer. Clark’s products were known for the exceptional performance of his pickup designs and associations with noted players including Tommy Emmanuel, Eric Johnson, Keith Urban, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and more.
The Supernatural Pickup System represents a significant advancement in achieving natural acoustic sound for live performance, faithfully reproducing the full nuance and tonal character of the guitar when connected to an amplifier or stage rig. This system is comprised of two primary sensors integrated into a preamplifier, with each sound profile meticulously calibrated to correspond with the specific design, wood, and performance characteristics of each individual guitar model. These profiles are pre-programmed into the preamplifier for convenient recall. The system offers four sound presets, catering to a wide range of guitarists, venues, and playing styles, along with an onboard 3-band EQ for precise tonal adjustments to suit the acoustic properties of the venue. The Supernatural Pickup System delivers unparalleled realism and flexibility, making it an exceptional choice for both live performances and studio recordings.
Meticulously designed right here on Australian shores, and lovingly crafted by hand to our exacting standards, the Artist OMC600SN is right at home at the very pinnacle of our acoustic guitar range, alongside the Artist GG1EQ as the absolute best-of-the-best.
