Artist Indominus8 Black 8 String Electric Guitar w/ Humbuckers

Tune even lower with the Artist Indominus8! This is the perfect 8 String guitar to break into the world of super low-tuned Metal and Djent.

The Indominus8 combines sleek looks with performance hardware and features a gloss-black basswood body with a maple bolt-on neck. The black chrome hard-tail string-through bridge ensures that the instrument has great sustain to achieve that metal wail, and the two-way truss rod ensures this can be set up for thick strings and low tunings so you can chug away with no issues. The controls are simple and effective, 1 volume, 1 Tone, and a 3-way Toggle selector, and the guitar is factory-fitted with 10-74 gauge strings.

With moderate-to-high output passive ceramic humbuckers with soap-bar covers, this guitar has a tight low end allowing for that familiar lower-mid growl that you should hear in any quality 8-string on the market.

This guitar is a newer, upgraded version of the original Indominus8, and it now sports better hardware, including upgraded machine heads, conductive paint in the control cavity, and a superior bridge.

The Artist Indominous8 definitely has some serious hardcore mojo, and is the perfect entry to extended range and heavy metal instruments.

This guitar has standard tuning posts. In the unlikely event that your strings are too thick for the post holes (if you enjoy playing with heavy-gauge strings), you might need to drill out the post hole and bevel (smooth) the entry and exit of the hole so that there are no sharp edges to break the string.

Pretty Good

By: on 24 July 2024
Honestly, bang for the buck. 8 strings are different beasts and it's like a whole new instrument. I'm planning in changing the pick ups for some actives as this is more the tone I enjoy. Neck is VERY thin but the bridge is great and holds tune pretty well! All the hardware is great. A con is that it doesn't seem to enjoy high overdrive/distortion/gain tones and doesn't break up as well as other guitars in artist line up. The cimmerian is the pinnacle and sounds incredible. But I just can't get the 8 string to go as harsh but I suspect that's also due to the sheer range of the noise frequency this guitar covers. Currently have a TS9 in front of a block letter 5150 and it's just not sounding as good as my other 6 and 7 strings. Not quite enough gain or overdrive for the sound I like. I'm sure I'll be able to get a great tone out in time, just a bit more of an FYI to those thinking of making the jump to 8 strings: the fretboard is huge, you will lose your spot for a while but stick at it, classical position is your friend.
