About this Artist HG39303CEQ Classical Guitar Solid Cedar Top + Cutaway and EQ

This is one of my personal favourites. The solid cedar top gives it a really warm sound and we have added a Spanish heel. For those of you that don't know, the Spanish heel is a much more difficult way of making a guitar but it greatly improves the sustain. On standard Classical guitars they often use dowels to attach the neck and a lot of tone can be lost through this joint.

As with all our solid top guitars we use a bone nut and saddle, the hardness of the bone allows great tone and sustain, the typical plastic nuts are quite soft and have the effect of deadening the sound.

This model also comes with a Fishman Presys pre-amp/pickup with built-in tuner, so if you want to perform or record this is ideal for you.

This is an excellent classical guitar, arguably the best Artist Guitar I've bought to date. I had this on the stand for over a month --before I actually started playing it. And I was pleasantly shocked at how loud it was and the rich resonance that projected out of its body. The last time I got surprised with an orgasmic audio rush like that was -- hearing and playing a Martin D28 dreadnought for the first time -- years ago, in my early 20s. The sound is just heavenly! The nylon strings are soft and comfortable on the hands and fingers. It's got the wide classical guitar string spacing which makes it comfortable for finger picking classical or Chet Akins/Tommy Emmanual style. The only issue I had with is the underside of the frets felt like they could have done with some more filing work. They felt a bit sharp and rough and not as smooth as the top edges. But it's not a biggy and is an easy fix. I'll get to the chase. This is not a beginner's guitar. Whether you're a beginner or not and you're looking to buy a classical guitar -- get this one. It looks amazing and the playing experience is worth far more than the $499 price.
