Artist TweedToneV 5 Watt Tube Guitar Amplifier

The Artist TweedtoneV is a great addition to our Tweedtone line of amplifiers, known for providing tube -driven vintage tones at an affordable price. This five-watt tube amp is the perfect solution to low volume valve amplification and is perfect for achieving that natural break up/overdrive tube amps are known for.

It features a master volume and a presence knob, so you can blend in more high mids and treble to your tone. This will give you that livelier and raspier sound and also allow you to cut through the mix with clarity. It features a Boost switch for a little extra output boost, which comes in really handy when using low output pickups (Boost) or when using high output pickups (Normal). The beauty of the TweedtoneV is in its simplicity and ergonomic design. Anyone can flick this on and get a great tube amp tone, and it is very responsive to tweaking controls on the amp and your guitar.

The amp has a 5 watt RMS output through a high-performance Celestion G8C-15 Speaker.

awesome for pedals

By: on 1 June 2024
I was on the fence between this and the 10watt, and am glad I got this. Even with volume at 9:00 on normal mode, this thing is plenty loud! It takes my OD pedals nicely to push the amp into breakup, even with the volume low. With the volume around 1 or so, the amp breaks up really nicely while pushed by the pedals, until my wife says to turn it down a bit :)

Really great little amp! Exceeds expectations. Great sound and behaves like a valve amp should. I'm very happy with it.

Awesome Valve Amp!

By: on 16 May 2022
My first valve amp. I hesitated for quite some time before buying this - wondering if I shouldn't look at other [more well-known, and more expensive] brands... but I kept coming back to the TweedToneV 5, and I'm glad I did - in fact I couldn't be hapier. It's loud, but not crazy loud - I can get the tubes working without annoying the family, let-alone the neigbours. Reverb would have been nice... but you can't have everything... and it takes pedals exceeedlingly well in any case. Real tube tone - real valve sound... at a really competitive price. Oh and it looks awsome too!

Incredible

Wow. Just wow. I unboxed it today and plugged in my 72' thinline Tele. First sounds were pleasant to my ears. Don't be fooled, this thing can be very loud and the break up at max volume is still a beautiful sound. As a small speaker, I can really feel my guitar. The strings come through the speaker, which you just don't get with bigger amps (Unless they're on house shaking volumes). I placed it next to my $1500 Vox tube amp, and played both on and off. I know vox is going for a different sound, but I prefer this 5w Artist tweed! Again, I can feel my guitar. The vox smooths things over which you wouldn't notice until you play one of these 5w amps... Here's my plan. Buy another tweed V and run them in stereo. $660 for two celestion tube amps??!! Oh man - what else has artist got that I need. Maybe a grungemaster...

What a beautiful sound from this 'practice' amp; Two dials and a boost switch- simple but stunning. If you're unsure you should just go ahead and buy it! You won't be disappointed.

Quality all the way!

By: on 18 August 2019
Honestly this amp is just stunning value for money - if a Fender badge was stamped on it no one would blink an eye. The build quality is on par with anything out there, nice weight to it and all knobs and controls are very high quality. The Celestion speaker sounds excellent and they really nailed the voicing - bass and treble levels are good by default and the simple presence control gives you enough control over the tone and cut through. It stays nice and clean on the normal setting which makes it great for pedals but can be pushed more easily using the boost control which is very handy. It records very well with a 57 or ribbon mic and actually can get very loud so don't be fooled by the size. Could take a star off for no external speaker output but honestly what's on offer here is just that damn good. Best purchase I've made in a while!
